Panasonic LX940 4K Ultra HD LED TV: 43'', 49'', 55'', 65'' and 75'', 100 Hz and HDMI 2.1

Return to our discovery of the TV range of the Japanese manufacturer. After the Panasonic LZ2000, Panasonic LZ1500, Panasonic LZ1000 and Panasonic LZ980 OLED TV series, it's time for the Panasonic LX940 LCD series.

The Panasonic LX940 has five flat Ultra HD 4K LED references, the Panasonic TX-43LX940 (43'', 109 cm), Panasonic TX-49LX940 (49'', 124 cm), Panasonic TX-55LX940 (55'', 140cm), Panasonic TX-65LX940 (65'', 165cm) and Panasonic TX-75LX940 (75'', 191cm).

Panasonic LX940 TV, Main Specifications…

In short, Panasonic LX940 televisions of course incorporate most of the specifications of the JX940 vintage 2021 models: native 100 Hz IPS LCD panel, Edge Local Dimming LED backlighting system and HCX Processor AI Pro chip associated with a specific setting for sports broadcasts and Intelligent Clear Motion motion compensation.

As a reminder, the renowned HCX Pro AI Processor is based on Machine Learning technology in order to adapt in real time (analysis of the image every second) the best parameters according to the content displayed. Namely, this Machine Learning process is coupled with a huge image database of more than a million video clips. Of course, the HCX Pro AI Processor chip acts on the sound, again by finely adapting the settings to the nature of the program displayed, film, sport…

There is still the HDR Cinema Display Pro feature linked to a high light peak (but still unknown at the time of writing these lines) and the Dolby Vision IQ function to enjoy a Dolby Vision HDR image that is always perfectly set whatever whatever the surrounding light conditions. Also, Input Lag should be the same as last year, 11ms at 1080p/60 and 3ms at 1080p/120.

The audio section delivers a total power of 30 W (2 x 15 W), and the connectors which now have four HDMI inputs, two of which are 2.1 with support for eARC, ALLM, VRR, 4K functions /120 and FreeSync Premium (via the Game Mode Extreme label). Finally, the Panasonic LX940 televisions offer an adjustable base with the supports placed at the ends of the screen (see second photo below) or more in the center to be in phase with narrower furniture (except for the 75'' fitted with with a central foot, see photos below).

Panasonic LX940 TV, Main Specifications, Next

For the rest, the Panasonic LX940 televisions feature Dolby Atmos compatibility and support for the HDR HLG photo process. Not to mention the My Home Screen 7.0 Smart TV function, a 10-bit LCD panel, an extended color space and management of HDR Dolby Vision, adaptive HDR10+, HDR10 and HDR HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) content. Filmmaker Mode is also available.

As a reminder, HDR10+ Adaptive technology is an improved version of the HDR10+ format for the best possible image whatever the ambient conditions, dark room or with strong light sources. And even with changing conditions, if the TV is located near a window for example. HDR10+ Adaptive mode uses data from the TV's light sensor to adapt the image to the environment.

In addition to the Game Mode Extreme label (see second photo below), the LX940 screens also have the Game Control Board function (see photo below) for direct access to game-related settings.

Otherwise, we note a DVB-T2, DVB-C and DVB-S2 tuner and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth compatibility (possibility of transmitting sound simultaneously to two compatible devices, for example two headphones).

Alexa integrated and connectivity

Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant are required and connectivity matters, in addition to the four HDMI connectors (including one with eARC management), an optical output, three USB Host (including one 3.0) with DVR (digital recorder) function, an Ethernet port and a CI+ port. HDCP 2.3 certification is also on the menu.
