Bluesound Hub, turn any audio source into a multiroom product

The new Bluesound Hub accessory makes it possible to convert any audio source in a household into multiroom equipment for the purpose of enjoying it on a Bluesound system.

The Bluesound Hub comes in the form of a square-shaped box and a size close to an Apple TV box (143 x 45 x 153 mm, W x H x D). Its connectivity allows the connection of any analog or digital audio source to transform it into a link in a Bluesound multiroom audio chain. And so enjoy it on another link in the chain or on the whole sound chain.

Bluesound Hub, proof by example For example, connected to a television or a vinyl turntable, the Bluesound Hub allows the sound of a TV channel or your favorite records to be broadcast on a Bluesound Pulse 2i, Bluesound Mini 2i or Bluesound Flex 2i speaker, or on a Bluesound Node (click to discover the complete test of the product by the editorial staff of AVCesar.com) itself connected to a pair of active speakers, or on a Power Node 2 and its passive speakers, or even a Bluesound Vault. It is even possible to enjoy it via a Node connected to a remote Hi-Fi system.

Like other Bluesound references, the Hub embeds the proprietary BluOS operating system, controlled via the BluOS Controller application available for smartphones, tablets and PC or Mac computers.

Bluesound Hub, main specifications All functions are entrusted to a SoC based on the ARM Cortex-A53 architecture, a Quad Core processor clocked at 1.8 gigahertz. File management up to 192 kHz/24 bits is ensured.

The connectors include a Gigabit Ethernet port, a stereo RCA input, an MM (Moving Magnet) phono input, an optical digital input, a coaxial digital input, an HDMI input with eARC and CEC functions and a USB-A port for Firmware updates. We also note the Wi-Fi ac Dual Band certification. Power is supplied via the USB-C port (AC adapter is included).

Bluesound Hub, multiroom accessory for integration Last point, the Bluesound Hub can be integrated into Control4, Crestron, Elan, Lutron, RTI and URC automation systems. Namely, up to four Bluesound Hubs can be managed on a single network with up to two simultaneous streams for each of them, one from the analog input and the other from the digital input.

Bluesound Hub availability announced for June. Indicative price: 349 euros.
