Yamaha RX-A6A and Yamaha RX-A8A, Auro 3D Firmware Update Available

Announced during the presentation of the Yamaha RX-A6A and Yamaha RX-A8A audio-video amplifiers in the spring of 2021, the Auro 3D Firmware update has been available since February 7 on the Japanese manufacturer's website.

If you are one of the few lucky owners of a Yamaha RX-A6A or Yamaha RX-A8A Home Cinema Amplifier (these products are hard to find due to shortage of components), and if you own some very rare Blu -Ray Auro 3D, the latest Firmware update from the Japanese manufacturer for its amps will interest you.

Auro-Matic Upmix function

If you do not have content mixed in Auro 3D, you will probably still be interested in the Auro-Matic Upmix function, which allows you to experience the Auro 3D process with a mono, stereo or surround signal. The latter is rather efficient for adding height sound information. Please note that the central height channel, the voice of God, is not managed by the Yamaha RX-A6A or Yamaha RX-A8A. The Auro-Matic function nevertheless offers the possibility of Auro 9.1 and Auro 11.1 processing, respectively on the RX-A6A (9 integrated channels) and RX-A8A (11 integrated channels). Namely, by combining the RX-A6A with a stereo amplifier for a total of 11 channels (9 + 2), it is also possible to take advantage of Auro 11.1 processing.
