The Lord of the Rings series, first images and funny statement from the authors

Vanity Fair has just unveiled the first exclusive images from the series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

Through three Instagram posts, Vanity Fair magazine unveiled photos from the series The Lord of the Rings, accompanied by an explanatory text as well as two photos from the set where we can see Juan Antonio Bayona (The Impossible, Jurassic World 2) directing two comedians.

The girls are revealed

The first photos show a young version of the elves Elrond and Galadriel, as well as new characters like Sophia Nomvete as a princess of the Dwarves and Nazanin Boniadi as a human healer. Vanity Fair says the series "will juggle 22 stars and multiple stories set in the Second Age of Middle-earth."

A series from 11 years old, according to the showrunners

The two showrunners Patrick McKay and JD Payne took the opportunity to clarify: "Don't expect the same level of sex and violence as in Game of Thrones, we are making a series for everyone, including children aged 11, 12 and 13 although every once in a while they will have to pull the blanket over their eyes when it gets a little too terrifying.” A somewhat startling statement at this point…

The full teaser will be unveiled during the Super Bowl this weekend in the USA, pending the broadcast of the series on Amazon on September 2.
