House of Gucci: no 4K for Ridley Scott's all-star fresco

House of Gucci, a fresco on the famous fashion label by Ridley Scott, will be released by Universal on Blu-Ray and DVD on March 24, 2022.

A well-known fashion brand, Gucci was managed in the 1970s by two brothers of sulphurous renown: Aldo (Al Pacino) and Rodolfo (Jeremy Irons). Facing the leading duo, the young Paolo Gucci (Jared Leto), son of Aldo, is chomping at the bit while Maurizio (Adam Driver), offspring of Rodolfo, is looking for himself. But Maurizio will fall in love with the lovely Patrizia (Lady Gaga), an ambitious woman whose maneuvers will shake the family empire…

Neither a box nor a crash

It is at the head of a rather incredible all-star cast that Ridley Scott tackles this fresco inspired by a famous legal case that one would swear came out of a soap-opera. The critics weren't kind to the film - it's true, it was released very shortly after Ridley Scott's excellent The Last Duel - which didn't prevent almost 800,000 spectators from going to taste the film in the rooms of 'Hexagon.

But no 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray

At the world box office, House of Gucci is clearly not the expected success (128 million dollars in revenue). But the long is not more the crash announced by some. For this March 24 Blu-Ray release, House of Gucci will be offered in DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 in original version and in DTS-HD High Resolution Audio 7.1 in French.

The film will be accompanied by a few bonuses, in particular a making of module, a focus on the character of Patrizia and a third on “the style of House of Gucci”.
